Who wears garter belts these days?

Thanks to the media we now have the impression that a garter belt is something sexy and daring. Originally the garter belt was created to give women another way to keep their stockings up without having to resort to using a corset or other such device that was apparently incredibly uncomfortable. Pantyhose then came along to replace the garter, but many women still use a garter belt from time to time, and some even regularly, claiming that it is more comfortable (particularly in hot weather) and that new developments in the design of the garter belt have made them more practical.
